Welcome to The Phoenix Files!

This blog is a collection of papers and how-to articles I have written over the past 25+ years, as well as my travel journals and announcements.  Scholarly works from "The Library" on my old website, are labeled here as "Historica Tractatu."

My travels have had heavy influence on my work and are the 'back story' behind many of my designs. Some of my older journals are revised from the original, and most link to photo albums on Facebook.

While I am between new works to show, I'd like to promote the newest works of some of my colleagues, who will be showing at Hatstravaganza in Seattle on October 8.

Wayne Wichern Millinery will be showing his new works for fall, including this stunning cloche, simple in form but dramatic in its presentation.

This show will take place at Phinney Center, Room 7.

6532 Phinney Avenue North, Seattle WA 98133

Carol Campbell of CC Chapeau will also be presenting blocked wools for fall, this one with a dressy bow.   You can follow Carol on Facebook

Hours for this show on Saturday are 10 AM - 4 PM

Not shown here but participating in this show are Izzie Lewis, Daria Wheatley, Ann DeVuono, Deb Waters, Flora-Carlile Kovacs, Ingrid Ostheller, and Diana Rubel.

Laura Clampitt of Arcadia Millinery will also be presenting her newest works, including the one shown here.  Laura forms the crowns of her hats by hand after removing them from the block, which makes each hat a unique piece.

Photos are being added to the Millinery Artisans website, so please check there for new arrivals.  And please see these in person at the show!
